

Gerald Douglas “Jerry” Cook, born, August 23, 1927 in Wyandotte, MI passed away September 18, 2014 at home in Houston, Texas. He was a son of the American Revolution, a member of the Greatest Generation, a faithful Northwest Baptist Church member, former Music Director and Gospel Singer.
He graduated Davis H.S. Houston, Texas and entered the U.S. Navy in 1945 returning to Houston in 1946 and started classes at U of H. Jerry had a distinguished business career, beginning with the Federal Reserve, then at John L Dore’ Co., Keystone Valve and lastly, owning a successful commercial printing company retiring in 1989. He then focused his tireless energies to playing golf, cross-stitch art, volunteering, and baby-sitting his young grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by his parents Earnest Lee Cook, Irma Beezley Cook, sisters; Vesta Lee, Gloria Stegink. Mr Cook is survived by his wife of 66 years: Alice L. Cook, sons Randall Cook and Alan D. Cook, Grandsons Grant A. Cook, Robert D. Cook.
Visitation will be September 23, 2014 from 5-8pm at American Heritage Funeral Chapel 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas. Funeral Service will be September 24, 2014 at 9:45am interment to follow at Houston National Cemetery.
