Geraldine Nichols, 88, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. Jeri was a talented doll maker and seamstress and an avid gardener. She handcrafted and painted porcelain dolls and designed delicate, unique dresses and hats for each. She also created prom dresses and ballet costumes. She spent hours in the garden with her plants. Her yard was beautiful and was awarded yard of the month many times. She was a great multitasker and chauffer from swim team to ballet to track.
Quick to laughter, Jeri was gentle, kind and loving. Married for 52 years to Walter Morris "Nick" Nichols, she is survived by two daughters: Kimberly Nichols Messer and Vicki Whatley, two granddaughters: Madison McKissack and Abigail Whatley, and three lovely sisters. A memorial service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer at 10am on Saturday, April 13, 2013.
