Gerardo “Lalo” Gonzalez, 22, of Houston passed away April 28, 2020 as a result of a tough battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones when he drifted off to be with the Lord. He was born on September 18th, 1997 to Carmen Gonzalez from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and Leon Gonzalez Sr. of Reynosa, Mexico. Gerardo graduated class of 2016 at Westfield High School.
He was currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance while also excelling in his banking career at Bank of America being promoted to a relationship manager at the age of 20. His goals were to finish school and pursue becoming an entrepreneur. He loved spending time with family either hunting, fishing or relaxing. He was loved dearly by his longtime girlfriend, Karla, she was with him by his side even at his final moments. He truly enjoyed living life to the fullest and often could be found working on his off-road Jeep and going mudding on the weekends. On his last Instagram post he stated “Tragedies are going to happen in life regardless, but being able to enjoy life in between those moments is why its important to live and have fun because you never know when the next tragedy will be.” This was a testament to how wise and brave he was at such a young age. He will be greatly missed by many, but we know he is now in all our hearts looking down and praying for us.
Gerardo is survived by his parents Carmen and Leon Gonzalez, Sr, his brothers Leon Jr., Ricardo, Juan Carlos and Victor Gonzalez, his sister in-laws, Luciana, Noemi and Pamela and his nieces and nephews, Britney, Ricardo Andres, Nicolas Max and Giuliana.
