

German Ayala , age 89 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in Houston, Texas. He was born on September 10, 1935 in Armero, Colombia, the son of Raimundo and Diocelina (Garcia) Ayala. German grew up, one of seven siblings in Girardot, Colombia; there he attended the Collegio Americano and the Collegio Santander where he graduated with his High School Diploma. After his high school graduation, he pursued his dream to move to the United States of America. German corresponded with many people from Colombia in his early days in the US, including Gloria, who would eventually become his loving wife of 54 years. They were blessed with two children, Sandra and Herman.
German attended the University of Miami in Florida; which led him into his career in Accounting. His business career started on Wall St. in New York City where he held positions in finance and accounting for different companies. German emphasized responsibility, making the correct decisions, and was an outstanding mentor for everyone he met.
German was well known within the Hispanic business community in Houston, Texas for the past forty years. As an accountant he met many business owners and their family members and he helped them establish their businesses. Most of his clients quickly became like his extended family as his care for others often exceeded his professional role. He will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, honesty, professionalism and compassion. In addition to his community involvement, German dedicated much of his time helping family and many others to follow in his footsteps to becoming citizens. His belief in the American Dream drove him tirelessly for those working for a better life.
German loved to travel, loved going to the beach, enjoyed playing tennis, watching sports, and attending family get togethers; where his family would gather around the dinner table reminiscing and telling family stories.
German is preceded in death by his parents, and younger brother Rolando Ayala. He is survived by his wife Gloria Ayala, daughter Sandra Ayala; son Herman Ayala and wife Alba and their sons German, Christian, and Xavier. He is also survived by his brothers Jaime Ayala and wife Irma, Bernardo Ayala and wife Nelly, Luis Alejandro Ayala and sisters Esperanza Ayala and Maribel Ayala Calderon as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was an extraordinary husband, father, brother and friend, and will be greatly missed.
A visitation for German will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, Tx 77095. A funeral service will occur on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church at 11507 Huffmeister Rd, Houston, Tx 77065.
