

Gilbert Camille Leonce Ordeneaux, known to his friends and family as Jimmy, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015. Gilbert was born on April 20, 1928 to Camille and Ida (Rome) Ordeneaux in Paulina, Louisiana, the middle of five children. Gilbert served in the Navy in WWII and was honorably discharged in July 1946. He married his beautiful wife in 1950 in Reserve, Louisiana. Gilbert was an active member in his community; he volunteered for the fire department, he is a founding member of Stafford Municipal School Distrcit, and he was a board member for the local water district, Fort Bend WCID#2. He retired from Charter Oil.
Gilbert had many hobbies and past times, including tending to his rent houses in Stafford and bay house in San Leon, Texas. If it was broke, he fixed it. He enjoyed sports, especially playing football and tennis. As any proud Cajun, he was a natural fisherman.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his daughter, Inez Steves; his grandchildren, Savannah Darrow and Christopher Steves; and his great-grandchildren, Seth Steves and Sage Darrow.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Silverado Care Community for their continued support and companionship through the past seven years.
The funeral will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home on Thursday, January 15, 2015 with the viewing from 10:00 - 11:00 AM and service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Silverado Hospice.
