Born on January 2nd 1923 in Diggins Missouri, his parents: Walter and Bertha Matney proudly raised him on their farm. He has been reunited with his predeceased wife of 56 years; Sally Gillispie, they joined in holy matrimony on July 2nd 1954.
Survived by his two children: Jeffrey Allen Matney, Janice Lee Sevegney, and spouse Kevin Christopher Sevegney, as well as grand children: Curtis Glen Sevegney, wife Jocelyn Sevegney, Evan Marie Matney, and Samantha Le’ann Sevegney, also great grand children: Ian Christopher Sevegney, and Clark Jacob Sevegney, and finally his beloved schnauzer Skippy.
Glen joined the United States Air Force when he was only seventeen years old, and endured through twenty-five missions during the Second World War. He dedicated twenty-eight years of his life to his country serving finally as Senior Master Sargent Matney.
The viewing for the family and friends is scheduled for November 20th 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. The funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday November 21st at American Heritage Funeral Home at 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, Texas.
