

Glenna was born to Idell and Wallace Mckee and raised in Coleman, Texas, where she met the love of her life and husband for 49 years and nine months, Steve Smith. Glenna and Steve shared a wonderful life together and had a love and respect for each other that all envied.
Glenna is preceded in death by her father, Wallace and brother, Gwin McKee. She is survived by her loving husband, her mother, Idell, son Terry Smith and children, Shannon and Jennifer, son Jeff Smith and daughter-in-law Kathryn and their children, Stephen, Mary Kate and Sam. She is also survived by sister, Kay and John Bitter and brother, Jerry and Shirley McKee as well as brother-in-law, Jim and Jare Smith. Glenna was devoted to her grandchildren and served as a loving grandmother, a mentor and a source of great comfort and peace.
Glenna’s faith and love of the Lord was the center point of her life. She was involved throughout her adult life with various Bible study groups, in particular, Prepare for Life, formally Bible Study Fellowship. Glenna was also very active in the Houston community having served as President of The Assistance League of Houston and being active in the guilds of THE CENTER Serving Persons with Mental Retardation and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She was also very active in the cutting horse community showing her beloved horses in cutting horse shows across the nation. Glenna had a beautiful smile, infectious laugh and was loyal, sweet and kind beyond words. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and legions of friends.
Glenna’s family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and technicians with Methodist Hospital who assisted her in her fight.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until eight o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 16th of March, at Geo H. Lewis and Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The memorial service is to be conducted at half-past ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 17th of March, in the Sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, 5300 Main Street in Houston.
Immediately following the service, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in an adjacent venue at the church.
Prior to the memorial service, the family will have gathered for a private interment ceremony at Glenwood Cemetery in Houston.
