

Gregory Webster Prince was born in Houston, Texas to Mary Barard and Samuel Prince. Gregory was raised by his Maternal Grandmother, Mabel Ruth Williams, and Grandfather, Frank Williams.
He was raised in the church at very young age, and was a lifetime member at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Friendship until around 2007 when his health began to fail due to a stroke in 2005.
Gregory attended Kashmere Junior and Senior High School, were he made a name for himself on the Football Field. Later, he attended Texas Southern University on a full Football
Scholarship were he accomplished a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education and a minor in History. He taught at Kashmere high, Tidwell Elementary, MB Smiley, and Sylvan Learning Centers. He was also a avid tennis player, which was one of his passions.
He later met and married Sylvia Douglas in 1984, to which this union remained until God called him home.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 40 years, Sylvia Prince; Daughter, Dominque Placide; Sister, Rita Barros;
Brothers, Freddie Simon and Kevin Marshall; Sister-in-Laws, Lisa Mattox (Jefferson), Viola Redman (Walter) and Latrina Demby-Douglas; Brother-in-Laws, Thomas Douglas and John Douglas; (3) Grand Kids; Autumn, Karam, and Addison; (3) Great-Grand and a host of Nieces and Nephews.
A visitation for Gregory will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. The funeral service will follow immediately from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. The committal will be held from 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM at Golden Gate Cemetery, 8400 Hirsch Rd, Houston, TX 77016.
