

Greg attended public and parochial schools in New York City, graduating from Barnard School for Boys in 1955, which is now Horace Mann School. He also attended Parsons School of Design for two years.
Greg served in the United States Army for two years and was stationed in Hawaii. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to New York and started working for Morgan Guaranty Trust Company. He met his future wife, Debbie Brooks, in New York in 1963, and they were married a year later. In 1965 they moved to Houston, where he was employed by Texas Commerce Bank in the investment department. He later worked for many years in the Controller’s Office as the investment and cash manager for the City of Houston, work he found most challenging and most rewarding. Greg retired after 20 years with the City and thoroughly enjoyed retirement.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Joseph Ruffing and his brother Joe. He is survived by his wife Debbie; two daughters, Beth Ruffing of McKinney, Texas and Jennifer Ruffing Paisley and her husband Bryan; two grandsons, Ethan Brooks Paisley and Miles Sebastian Paisley, all of Petaluma, California.
The family is deeply grateful to Dr. James Livesay and Dr. Bruce Barnum for years of kind and conscientious care.
Friends and family are cordially invited to gather with the family and share remembrances of Greg during a reception to be held from four o’clock in the afternoon to six o’clock in the evening on Monday, the 30th of January, in the grand foyer of Geo. H Lewis & Sons 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
In accordance with Greg’s wishes, there will be no religious service
