Gregory Bernard Wallace

Gregory Bernard Wallace was born on the 14th of November in 1962 to Harold Lewis Wallace(deceased) and Barbara D. Singleton in Houston, Texas. Gregory accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend WG. Wright at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He was baptized April 16, 1972. He then united with Shiloh Community Church under the leadership of Reverend Howard Devenport Jr., in 1972 and remained a faithful member until his passing. He was a very dedicated and devoted servant of the Lord. He served as a faithful deacon, president of the male chorus, member of the parking lot assistance team, usher board, Pastor’s Aide team, as well as the S.A.L.T. team.  Gregory attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1981. His first job was at Target where he worked for several years. He later became an employee of Continental Airlines, now known as United Airlines, where he remained faithful and hard-working for 32 years. Gregory was united in holy matrimony on June 26, 1993 to Vernell L. Shyne. They were blessed to have a blended family of six children.  Gregory’s hobbies included gaming, grilling, fishing, and traveling. He also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with his family and friends. He had fun visiting the gun range and watching his favorite sports on television. But most importantly, aside from being a dedicated man of God, Gregory took joy in bringing his family together for food and fun at their “monthly outings”. On May 13, 2019, God called Gregory home and he made his crossing to our Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard Devenport Sr, Lillie Devenport and his father Harold Wallace.  Gregory leaves a legacy of service and a family of servants. His life will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Vernell Wallace, devoted mother Barbara D. Singleton, his children Darnisia Wallace, Taranisia Wallace, and Ceasar Fields (Jolandria), Candace Fields, Natishia Holly, Tywana Busby (Warren); one sister, Yolanda Martin Randolph (Anthony); three brothers, Tyrone Martin Jr. (Carolyn), Hayden Wallace, and Chris Shelton; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two uncles, four aunts, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
