Guadalupe Quintanilla Zepeda (Lupe) peacefully went into the arms of her loving Savior and joined her beloved husband Rudolph (Rudy) Felix Zepeda on Monday, April 8, 2013, at 11:53 A.M. in Aledo, Texas. Lupe was a spiritual, compassionate, and loving lady. Her life was a blessing to many and an example to all who knew her. She awakened all our senses by her love of art and God’s created nature. She was born December 11, 1919, to parents Elena and Manuel Quintanilla in San Antonio, Texas. She spent most of her life in Houston after her parents moved there at the age of three. Her mom and dad raised 5 children, Robert, Hortense, Lupe, Johnny, and Manuel who all are now deceased. She was a skilled artist at Jeff Davis High School and then received a scholarship to the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Transportation to and from the museum made it difficult for her to attend. After high school she studied to be a beautician but she chose to style only her children’s hair. She met Rudy, her future husband, in high school. Lupe and Rudy’s families along with friends would socialize on weekends. It was at these gatherings that they saw each other regularly. Rudy pursued her and they began dating when he was in medical school. She married Rudy on August 29, 1943, and they shared a wonderful life for 53 years. During those years she stayed home and raised her family of 10 children (5 boys and 5 girls) who all became accomplished professionals. She has 35 grandchildren with their 14 spouses and 27 great-grand children. Rudolph, Delia & their family: R. Carlos, Alexis Zepeda and Virginia & Rahul with Asha Bahadkar.
