Herman “Leroy” Tade, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 94 on December 15, 2025, in Austin, Texas. He was born on August 11,1931, in Marshfield, Missouri, to Herman Theodore Tade and Anna Evangeline Melvin.
Leroy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Maxine Tade (née Stocking), with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. They were married on September 17, 1949, and built a life rooted in faith, family, and unwavering commitment to one another. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his only brother, Bruce Laverne Tade, and his daughter, Rebecca King.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Stallman and husband Mike, and Tina Scott and husband Daniel. He is also survived by his grandchildren Guinnevere Ebbeson, Sabrina Scott, Adam Stallman, and David Stallman; and his great-grandchildren Steven and Emily, children of Guinnevere, and Kea and Loa, daughters of Adam. Leroy grew up in Marshfield, Missouri, where he developed the values that guided him throughout his life—hard work, loyalty, and dependability. He carried those values into a 51-year career as a piping designer, a role he approached with pride and precision. Known for leading by example, Leroy earned the respect of those around him through his consistency, integrity, and steady strength.
Those who knew Leroy best would describe him as selfless, loyal, and quietly dependable. He was someone others could always count on. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, playing golf, following the Houston Astros, and working with his hands as a skilled handyman. Above all else, Leroy made time for his family. As a grandfather and great-grandfather, Leroy showed his love through his actions and the steady presence he provided to those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, responsibility, and love—one that will continue to guide his family for generations.
