Harold Allen King Sr.

Harold Allen King, Sr. died on November 23, 2015 in Houston, Texas. He was 83 years old. Harold was born September 17, 1932 in Wheeler County, Texas to St Elmo Murray King, Jr. and Callie Vandora King (Hodges).

After graduating from Canadian High School in 1951, Harold joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific during the Korean War becoming what was then the youngest Chief Petty Officer in the 7th Fleet. He would later attend West Texas State College graduating with a degree in geology. He would marry Gerry Lee King (Schultz) in 1964 and would later welcome a son, H. Allen King, Jr. in 1971. The majority of Harold's career would be spent as a geologist and lab manager for Core Laboratories. He would later retire as a property manager for Western Atlas.

In addition to his career, Harold enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed tinkering with almost anything mechanical be it an old car, lawnmower engine or deer feeder. He was also an active member of Cypress Bible Church.

Harold is survived by his wife Gerry, son Allen, his brother James King and his sisters Joyce West and Martha Serrafin. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Billy Joe King and Johnny King.

A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday December 2, 2015 at 11:30 am at Cypress Bible Church in Cypress, Texas preceded by a visitation and viewing at 10:00 am.
