
Harold Kenneth Robinson passed away July 16, 2016. Born January 1, 1927 in Houston, Texas, he was preceded in death by his parents, Josiah and Anna Mae Robinson; sister, Helen Whitener; nephew, Michael K. Whitener; and his beloved wife, Ruth S Robinson. He is survived by his sister, Mary Frances Crawford; nieces, Barbara Bennett, Carolyn Roberts, and Janet Whitener; nephew, Ronald Whitener and his wife, Ann, and Michael’s widow, Jeanie.
Kenneth was a veteran of WWII, U.S. Navy, LST1043, on which, as a very young man, proudly served twenty-two months in the South Pacific. After his service, he attended the University of Houston for two years. Following this, he was employed in construction for a Texaco pipeline crew for approximately ten years.
His twenty-three year administrative career then began in the energy sector for R.E. “Bob” Smith Interests, where he was a Production Coordinator, which included Financial Tracking and Production Management involving a joint venture unit in West Texas.
He and Ruth were long time members of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and The Exxon Club of South Texas, where they served as officers at various times. Married for forty-one years, they enjoyed traveling whenever possible and had a very happy life together.
Funeral services will be at Forest Park Westheimer in Memorial Mission Mausoleum Chapel, July 20, 2016, 11:00 a.m., presided over by Dr. Bill Gandin, of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, interment to follow in crypt with his soulmate, Ruth.
