Harold was born on Nov. 19, 1947. He attended Jesse H. Jones High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Houston. Throughout his life, Harold retained his love of history. One of his biggest hobbies was reading history books and watching war documentaries, and you could always count on him to earn the “yellow history pie” in games of Trivial Pursuit. He loved to go fishing in Galveston Bay, travel with family and friends, play dominoes, and was an avid Houston sports fan who always cheered on his Cougars, Astros, Rockets, Oilers, and Texans.
Harold is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Wetuski; daughters, Jodi Phillips and Lisa Wetuski; son-in-law, Jerry Phillips; grandsons, Seth and Owen Phillips; brother, Patrick Wetuski; and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Wetuski; siblings Peggy Nance, Mary Malek, and Samuel Wetuski; and his parents.
All services will take place on Friday, Nov. 14, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery at 13001 Katy Freeway: Visitation with the family at 1:30, service at 2:30, burial immediately after the service, followed by refreshments with the family.
