

Harry was born on March 1, 1937 to Lacy Allen Suarez Sr. and Virginia E. Charbonnet in New Orleans, LA. He grew up in the lower 9th ward of the city.
An exceptionally bright, young man, Harry was advanced a grade forward in his early years making him the youngest in his graduating class of Nicholls High School in 1954. He enjoyed playing sports such as football, baseball and boxing.
Harry enlisted in the United States Airforce at age 17. He was very proud of his military service, which included a stint in Germany. After being honorably discharged, he attended classes at what is now known as University of New Orleans. Married in 1960 and theirs was a love that lasted 66 years, 5 days before his passing.
He began a long career with Federal Aviation Administration. Harry was transferred to Houston, TX in 1965 for what would be a majority of his life’s work. Harry retired from the FAA after 39 years, all at the airport center. He was as the president of the FAA workers union on several different occasions.
He and Catherine took a keen interest in the rearing of their children. They were active grandparents that enjoyed witnessing the fun and accomplishments of the young ones. As masculine as he was, Harry had a soft spot for his grandchildren and tried to make things special for them. After he retired from work, he even was daycare grand dad for his youngest, Kasey, for 9 months.
In his spare time, Harry enjoyed watching sports. He also liked to spend time outdoors. He obtained a country home in Montgomery, TX that he enjoyed spending time at. In addition to this, he found time to read an excess of 30 books a year, mostly non-fiction & biographies.
Preceded in death by his son, Anthony David Suarez his brother Lacy A. Suarez Jr., and his infant brother, Michael.
Survived by his wife Catherine M. Puccio Suarez, son Harry Waldon Suarez Jr., daughter Angela C. Suarez Borski (Ronald), grandson Andrew K. Suarez (Kristina), granddaughter Natalie K. Suarez Broadbent (Evan), Kasey D. Borski, great grandson Jett A. Broadbent, sister, Kathy M. Wright and many cousins.
His love, leadership and wit will be sorely missed by family & friends.
