Harvey Dale Thompson

He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Dale was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid golfer and hunter. Dale was a graduate of Texas A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He proudly served his country during the Korean War and again as a member of the National Guard during the Berlin Crisis. He was a long time member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers. He retired from Armco/ Contec Inc., but served as an engineering consultant for many years after his retirement. He has been a member of Texas A&M Twelfth Man Foundation for almost 39 years. He was also an active member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Evelyn Thompson; children, Gayle Schaefer, Randy Thompson and wife Gigi, and Jody Thompson and wife Betty; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, John W. Thompson and wife Peggy; and many other friends and relatives.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service and Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, Texas 77024. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
