Havert Witte

Havert Witte born January 4, 1922 went to be with his Lord and Savior and his wife Darlene on December 2, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman Witte Sr. and Ida Oppermann Witte; wife, Darlene Jahns Witte; brothers, Curtis Witte, Carl Witte, Herman Witte Jr., J.C. Witte, Gussie Witte and Elfred Witte; sisters, Ida Surovik and Barbara Moore; son-in-law, Stanley Elliott. Havert will be greatly missed by his daughters, Linda Barrett and husband Bill Barrett and, Verna Spurgeon and husband Ralph Spurgeon; siblings, Ernest Witte and wife Gloria, M.C. Knesek and Lila Mae Kirk; grandchildren, Michelle Elliott, Howard Elliott and wife Jessica, Brandon Spurgeon and wife Becky, Eric Spurgeon and wife Marsi; great-grandchildren, Hayden Spurgeon, Carson Spurgeon, Wade Spurgeon, Adalyn Elliott and Samantha Spurgeon.

Havert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Crosby, Texas for 38 years, retired from Lafarge North America Cement Co. where he was a loyal employee for 36 years and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 2:00pm Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm with interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
