Later in life, she met Willie Fred Chambers and they were married for 34 years until he proceeded her in death in January 2020.
Hilion’s biggest passion was caring for children. For many years she was a Director at Missouri City Academy and also worked for Mt. Zion Christian School. She then transitioned to Houston Police Department and was a clerk for HPD’s uniform supply where she retired. Shortly after retiring, she focused on spending time with her grandchildren and being an active member of the Mt. Zion Pathfinders Senior group. With this group she was able to travel with her husband and friends.

Hilion was a family focused, God-fearing, quiet spirited woman who always showed kindness and never met a stranger. Always offering her last to people and an invitation to her house for some good food. We know she was greeted at heavens’ gates by The Lord, her husband and all of the loved ones that made it to heaven before her.
