

Holly Susan Rovner , 52, died from complications of multiple myeloma on March 12, 2012, She was born in Berkeley, California on September 9, 1959 to Dr. John and Lyndyl Sorensen. She grew up in Logan, Utah and graduated from Logan High School with Honors in 1977. She went on to study at the University of Utah and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
Holly moved to Houston, Texas in 1982 where she met her husband, Dr. Jerry Max Rovner. In 1989 she had her first child, Sarah Chantal Rovner. Following Sarah were Amy Margaret Rovner and Heather Elise Rovner, born in 1991 and 1993 respectively. Holly became a stay at home mom until she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in September of 2000.
Holly was a gifted cello player, enjoyed skiing on the mountains of Utah, and loved her horse Bardon Sox. She was active in all of her children’s extra-curricular activities, becoming a soccer, art, and theater mom all in one.
She is survived by her parents of Logan, Utah, her beloved children and husband, and sister Patty Davis of Charles City, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at the Grace Presbyterian Chapel, located at 10221 Ella Lee Lane Houston, TX 77042, at 11 am on March 15, 2012. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
