

He was married to Sue for 48 years. Howard worked in warehousing for Continental/United Airlines. He was a member of Alabama Baptist Children’s Home Family and had a passion for College football – Roll Tide.
He is survived by wife, Sue Steward; Children, Kelly Steward and Angela Steward (Jeff); Grandchildren, Brittany Ramirez (Shelby) and Brianna Ramirez; Great Grandchildren, Keagen Ramirez and McKenzie Ramirez; Brother, Jimmy Steward (Rita); Sisters, Darlene Garrell (Chuck), Brenda Steward White, Nancy Manning, and Joan Little; More Brother’s and Sister’s from the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home and Charles Henderson High School Football Team and Cheerleaders – Class of 69 than I can list; A number of nieces and nephews that he did not get to see much, but spoke of often; and A special group of Marine Brothers and Many friends from far and near.
Howard is proceeded in death by Father, Floyd Steward; Mother, Aberleen Steward (Burns); Brother, Bruce Steward; Sister, Linda Gail Defoe; and Grandson, David Ramirez.
A gathering for Howard will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A memorial service will occur Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
