Hugo C. Sapien passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025. Hugo was born December 15,1934 to Antonio Sapien and Leonila Casas in Camaron, Nuevo León, Mexico. He grew up in Mexico coming to the US when he was in his twenties where he joined The US Army. He was so proud of his service to our great country.
After being honorably discharged he met his wife, Rose Vallejo Sapien. They married on June 6, 1964, a marriage that lasted 58 years and welcomed three children and 6 grandchildren. His greatest joy was being a provider to his family. His loyalty led to the formation of many lifelong friends.
He started his pride and joy, Husa Accurate Machine Works in 1965 and Rose worked alongside him keeping the books. Together they built a life filled with love and family. Hugo worked at his beloved company until his death. He not only loved his job, he cared about his employees. Many have worked with him for most of their lives. Hugo was a true businessman always looking for an opportunity to do more. Along with his company, he had rental properties and several other business ventures.
He was self educated and instilled in his children that education was the key to success. He fully supported all their endeavors. He was a loving abuelo and attended all his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a true family man and always made sure there was at least one family vacation every year and this continued until Rose was no longer able to travel. Hugo created so many fond memories of family trips with children and grandchildren. He loved the beach and loved the sun.
He was proud of his heritage but also loved being an American citizen. He was the life of the party and always had a Miller Lite in hand. He never lost his sense of humor and even when hospitalized he would ask for a beer from meal service. Very rarely did you see him in a bad mood or upset. He never complained and took things in stride even in his last days. Hugo was ever positive and always so loving to those around him. He was truly one of a kind and an embodiment of the American dream. He came to the US and achieved so many successes through his hard work and determination. While his family knows he is reunited with his beloved wife and resting in peace, he will be truly missed.
He is survived by his three children Fidel (Tracy), Marco (Dunia), Sabrina (Todd), and his six grandchildren, Andrew, Sam, Alyssa, Meta, Nicholas, and Alec, as well as many friends and extended family members.
Rosary will be held on Thursday, January 23,2025 at 6:00 pm with reception immediately following. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10:30 am. All services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Tx 77039.
