Imani LaShei Troutman

Imani LaShei Troutman was born May 18, 1998, to the late Terrel G. Troutman Jr. (Deno) and Holly J. Mikesell in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. On September 27, 2025, Imani received her wings and took her flight home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Imani was raised by her father, Terrel Jr., her grandmother Rosetta McGee Franklin, her aunt LaShawna Troutman, and her mother Holly Mikesell in New Jersey. "It takes a village to raise a child."

Imani received her education at King's Academy Christian School in New Jersey, continued at Texas Christian School, and graduated from Elsik High School in Houston, Texas. She continued her education and became a phlebotomist, aspiring to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.

Imani was a great listener and always knew what to say. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, god-children, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Terrel Jr.; her grandmothers, Rosetta McGee Franklin and Pan Im Choi Mikesell; and her grandfather, Wyman F. Mikesell.

Imani leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Holly Mikesell; sister, Asianique Mikesell; aunts, LaShawna Troutman and Angela Martinez; uncle, Patrick Franklin; grandfathers, Terrel Troutman Sr., and Castordarryl (CD) Franklin; god-children, Logan and Levi; significant other, Richard Moreno; great aunt, Juliet Green; great uncle, Donald Wilson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, located at 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, on October 13, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue on October 14, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The committal service will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, on October 14, 2025, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
