Irene Hazel Locke

Irene Hazel Locke, 86 ½ years old of New Caney, Texas, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 6:49 a.m. in Danbury, Texas surrounded by her family. She was born in Portales, New Mexico on November 21, 1932 and graduated from Floyd High School.

She married A.B. Locke on December 15, 1955 and were happily married for 63 years and had five children. My dad said she saved his life by marrying him. Irene loved her family and took great pride in them. She loved adventures, camping, fishing, motorcycle rides, especially traveling and eating out. She always wanted to go and not be left behind. She would do anything, even ziplining at age 82 years old. Her passion was music and dancing, she would join any group in a line dance. She hated to cook, even though she did it well.

She is survived by children: Mike Locke (Jacki): Arlan Locke (Donna): Sandra Bazar (Jeff) and Brett Locke (Patricia). Grandchildren: Jon Janczak; Chris Janczak: Kelley Hansen: Adam Locke; Brandon Wade; Tracy Davenport; Aaron Locke and Hannah Locke. Great Grandchildren: Ally Berven; Josh Janczak; Douglas Bauer; Jacob Janczak; Kindle Davenport; Harli Wade; Avery Davenport; Brody Wade; Kennedy Hansen; Aiden Janczak; Taylor Wade; Gavin Locke; Presley Hansen; Braden Breaux and Rayf Davenport. She was preceded in death by: Daughter, Deborah Mae Morgan, Clovis, New Mexico (age 2)

Siblings: Mildred Campbell, Floyd, New Mexico; Alex, Campbell, Portales, New Mexico; Wilma Robinson, Farwell, Texas; Fred Campbell, Portales, New Mexico; Fern Cochrain, Elida, New Mexico; Faye Lee, Portales, New Mexico; Mary Holland, Portales, New Mexico; Porter Campbell; Floyd, New Mexico; Frieda, New Mexico.

Pallbearers are Jon Janczak, Chris Janczak, Adam Locke, Brandon Wade, Aaron Locke and Hayes Davenport. Honorary pallbearers: Lloyd (Tuffy) Locke and Donnie (Little) Wagner

Visitation will be held in the Grand chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2019 and services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019. Lunch will follow at Key Life Fellowship, 22774 Antique Lane, New Caney, TX 77357 for those that can join us.
