Irene Ortiz

Irene Ortiz, age 80, of Houston, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Irene was born October 12, 1941. Irene worked for the Clorox Company for 33 years in Houston TX. She loved going to Lake Charles, Louisiana to gamble and went many many times after a well deserved retirement. She also loved going to Livingston and Shreveport, La for gaming, good eating and pure enjoyment. She met so many people on our Louisiana travels that still are close friends and some became family. Special appreciation to Chassica Vincent and Dena Jo Mc Comb and Keisha Wright who were always quick to run up to her and give her big hugs and welcome her to her second home.

She loved watching football, especially the Texans, Saints and the Cowboys. She loved to watch the Astros games as well. She was thrilled to experience an Astros World Series Championship. She was a wonderful Mother to her daughter Julie Campos Ortiz, who took care of her for over 20 years post stroke and will try her best to honor her Mother throughout her life. She also loved her grandcat Stevie, which she loved to spoil with treats and toys.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Petra Ortiz, sisters Frances Genna and Micaela Ortiz. Brothers Faustino Ortiz, Raymond Ortiz, Daniel Ortiz Jr., and Edward Ortiz and nephew Daniel A. Ortiz. She is survived by her sister Martha O. Ortiz, sisters in law Angie Ortiz and Bertha Ortiz and her only child Julie Campos Ortiz. Also numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Irene will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo Navigation, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A rosary service will occur Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A visitation will occur Friday, July 29, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 29, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A committal service will occur Friday, July 29, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
