Ivan L. Trifon passed away on December 12, 2012 at Houston Hospice following a long fight with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Jan Trifon; his children: Darrel Trifon, Cynthia Trifon, Julia A. Simpson, Craig Miller & wife Ellen, Coby L. Miller & wife Amy; brother, David Trifon & wife Brenda; 6 grandchildren. Ivan was raised in Houston Heights by Sam and Georgia Trifon, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Reagan High School and Sam Houston State University. He was commissioned in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam with the “Black Horse”, 11th Armored Calvary Regiment. He retired from the Army Reserve as a Major serving with the 75th Division. Ivan was well known in the oil patch as a manufacturers’ representative working from Midland, Corpus Christi and Houston. The family wishes to thank Ivan’s very good friends, Robert “Bob” Donaghe and his wife Sandy, for all their loving care & kindness during this difficult time. Visitation will be from 6-8PM on Sunday, December 16th. Graveside service will be held at 1:30PM on Monday, December 17th at Brookside with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Houston Hospice.
