Jackie was the heart of her family. If you knew her, you knew she lived with a speech impediment, but it never slowed her down or dimmed her spirit. It was simply part of her charm (just don't ask her to say three, chiropractor, Kandiace, or guacamole). She worked three jobs to provide for her six children, persevering through countless hardships with determination and grace. The greatest of those hardships was the unimaginable loss of three of her children by the age of 56.
A true spitfire, Jackie faced daily pain without complaint and met each day head-on. She retired from Coca-Cola Maryland Club Foods and was a surviver of both Breast Cancer and Larynx Cancer. At the time of her passing, she was bravely battling lung cancer. Even with such tough medical battles she didn't let that take away her independence. She went on many adventures and visited many places in her lifetime. Many of her family members knew her as "Boogie" due to her love for dancing and always bringing the party to every gathering. She was loving, hardworking, and a ball of fire, small in stature but mighty in spirit.
Jackie was the youngest of four children, born on August 12, 1940, to Louise O. Moore and Vernon L. Moore in Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Verna Mae, Howard Douglas, and Lois “Joanne”; her husbands, Walter Kalinowsky and Tommy Prince; her sons, Chris and Joe Kalinowsky; and her daughter, Laura Kaye.
She is survived by her daughter, Bridgette Martinez (husband, Eli); her sons, Walt Kalinowsky (wife, Kristine) and Jack Kalinowsky (wife, Terry); bonus children, Tommy and Cindy Prince; longtime partner, Larry “Cowboy” Smith; grandchildren, Ray (wife, Lisa), Kandiace, Kameron (partner, Lio), Kourtney (boyfriend, Daniel), Klayton, and Karissa; great grandchildren, Skyler, Asher, Nylah, and Keegan; and numerous nieces and nephews, all whom will forever carry her love in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pat H. Foley in Houston, TX on February 6th from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
