James Goodhue Davenport Jr was born on November 3, 1941 in Bandera, Texas. He passed away March 1, 2017 at the age of 75 in Houston, TX. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Terry Davenport, sons James Goodhugh Davenport III of Dallas, TX and Gregory William Davenport of Houston, TX.
He is also survived by his sister Margaret Davenport Lovelace of San Antonio, TX and his beloved Aunt Betty Jo Schmidt of Kerrville, TX, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father James Goodhue Davenport Sr. and his mother Louise Manning Stubblefield. He served honorably aboard the USS Ranger (CVA-61) from 1959 to 1962. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:30pm at American Heritage Funeral Home.
