James Charles Hugh Hoge was known as Jim, Honey Hoge, Dad, and Gramps. He was born on October the 13", 1935 to parents Colonel Elmer Hoge and Estelle in San Antonio, Texas. Jim was married to Patricia Ann Hoge for 67 years and blessed with a daughter Robyn Lynn Hoge and a son James Scott Hoge and wife Pamela. He also had grandchildren, Adam Holman and wife April, April Gossett and husband Anthony. They gave him great grandchildren Isabelle Holman and Asher and Ayden Gossett. He grew up with sisters, Lucille Isner and Patricia Mooty and brother Robert (Bob) Hoge.
Jim received a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of New Mexico, and a master's in business from U.T. Austin. Jim had a passion for Barbershop Harmony Music. He sang with several choruses as he was relocated with his job as an engineer with Lockheed Martin.
After retirement, Jim and Pat settled in Tomball, Texas where he developed woodworking skills and continued to enjoy singing with the barber shoppers. Jim enjoyed golfing with his friends and many wonderful vacation trips with Pat and his sister Pat Mooty and her husband Bob, as they celebrated anniversaries together since they had a double wedding.
He was a member of Spring Baptist Church and sang with the senior choir, he enjoyed the lessons with his Sunday classes.
Jim will be greatly missed, but his life with us will be forever loved and remembered.
A visitation will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home, located at 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, on February 25, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The committal service will be held at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, on February 25, 2026, from 12:45 pm to 1:15 pm.
