

He was born in Possumwalk, Texas on December 4, 1930. James was raised on a farm in East Texas with his family. He was married to Margaret F. Cervenka on June 9, 1959. James (Preston) had a career as a city bus driver for Metro for the City of Houston. He was a 32° Mason, Shriner, and a member of American Legion. James had a passion for spending time with family and friends, storytelling and a daily toddy. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rosser Hutto; mother, Katie; brothers, Chester, JR, Billy Leon, Billy Gene; sisters, Louise, Ester/ Citi, and Annalee; granddaughter, Kristy Royal Hutto.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Frances Hutto; sons, James Preston Hutto, Jr. and wife Leann Hutto, Robert Darrell Hutto and wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Rendy Anderson & husband Aron, Darrell Hutto, Brandon Brooks and wife Sarah, Brianne and Blake Hansen, Deanne and Pete Antake, Amber and Cody; great-grandchildren, Christian, Addison, Landon, Harper, Rylin, Evan, Taylor, Caden, Calvin, Jackson, Preston, Dillon and numerous extended family members and friends.
Serving as Pallbearers are Preston Wray, Darrell Hutto, Griff Minter, James Hutto, Brandon Brooks and Robert Hutto.
A visitation for James will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A burial will occur Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
