Jim, a loving, devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather–or Papou as his grandchildren call him, was always there for everyone who needed him. Jim was a man of faith, loyalty, and kindness; had a heart of gold; and always put his family first. He was loved by many, usually smiling, and could always find something to tease and laugh about.
Jim was a Korean War Veteran, a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, served on the parish council, was a past Greek Festival Chairman, a Youth Athletic Director of his church, and a former Commander of the American Legion Evzones Post #1039.
Jim is survived by the love of his life and wife of 54 years, Barbara (Bukowski); daughter, Paula Tippit (Terry); sons, Andrew (Laura), John (Jennifer), and George (Laurie) Kissamis. Jim has ten adored grandchildren: Christina, Travis, and Nicole Tippit; Jacob, Abigail, Nicholas, Matthew, Jacquie, Hannah and Alex Kissamis. Jim is also survived by his sister, Catherine Gerakaris; sister-in-law, Patricia Kissamis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George and Peter; and sister, Mary Koulentis.
Special thanks to Dr. Mohammed Attar and his entire staff for their special care and devotion not only to Jim, but also to the entire family, during the last 24 years.
