Jim had just moved from Pflugerville, TX where he resided for 16 years, to Houston, TX to be closer to his family. Jim was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 15, 1953. “Jimmy” was a happy kid with a bit of a rebellious side.
Jim was recognized for his golf talent at a young age and while attending Worthington High School he won the 1968 State of Ohio 15-year-old boy's golf championship. He then attended The Ohio State University, where he played on the golf team and continued to be a life long Buckeyes fan.
Jim was passionate about every aspect of golf and even owned Lakeview Golf & Country Club in Harker Heights, TX for 7 years. Jim had an entrepreneurial spirit and created many successful businesses throughout his lifetime. He was passionate about helping people heal their psoriasis and wrote an e-book and created multiple products to accomplish that. He was also a successful web-entrepreneur and was always looking for the next big thing. Jim was known for being smart and inventive, laid back but straightforward, and overall a good man who loved his family.
His daughter Laura Longnecker, his parents Margaret Longnecker and Elmer Longnecker, his sister Dana Harrison, his nephews and extended family survive him.
The family will be hosting a private celebration of life on September 21st.
Condolences can be sent to 3214 S. Greenpark Drive, Houston, TX 77082.
