James Eugene McGrath

Jim was born in Troy, New York on August 29, 1927. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY after which he joined the United States Navy and served 4 years on the U.S. Marietta AN-82. After leaving the Navy he graduated from Siena College in Loudonville, NY.

Jim was employed by Shell Oil Company as a Retail Marketing Manager for 33 years working in New York City, Louisiana and Houston, Texas. After his retirement Jim remained in Houston, Texas until his death.

Jim was the son of the late Daniel F. and Mary Brennan McGrath. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel F. McGrath, Jr and his sisters, Mary A. Drislane and Alice Digman. He is survived by his sister, Patricia I. Jones of Coronado, California and several nieces, nephews, and numerous grand nieces and nephews.

Jim's family would like to thank Sylvia Smith for her unwavering support and compassion shown to Jim these last several years. Also they would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to the entire staff at the Tarrytowne Estates Retirement Community and all of his caregivers, especially Amalia (Molly) Garcia and Terri Hammond.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held in New York State and he will be interred next to his parents in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy, NY.
