

James was a loving, kind and generous person who will be dearly missed by two daughters Angela, Tammie, Jamie Norris, four grandchildren Sylvon Stevens, Darrion Norris,Taylor Clark, Michael Norris, and seven sisters, Alice Weeks, Helen Anderson and her husband Roscoe, Odeal McNight and her husband Johnny, Jessie Woodard and her husband Joseph, Mary Jackson, Alice Claibourne and her husband James, and Laura Johnson. Also survived by his two brothers Joseph Morris and his wife Irene, Billy Norris and his wife Jean and a host of nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends.
James served his country in the United States Army for his entire life, retiring as a Master Sergeant.
James family will receive friends and family for visitation on April 16th, 2011 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A service to celebrate his life will follow at 12:30p.m., officiated by Minister Harcell Montgomery. Mr. Norris will then receive full military honors at a graveside service in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
