

James Arthur Pearson, III passed away peacefully at home on the 30th of October 2011 following a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born on the 1st of September 1926 in Houston, Texas, to James Arthur and Lottie Pearson.
Jim attended San Jacinto High School before enrolling at the University of Texas in 1943. After completing his first year of college, where he joined the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Jim enlisted in the United States Army Air Force at the height of World War II. After the war, he returned to the University of Texas where he completed his education and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Nine years later, Jim joined the United States Central Intelligence Agency and spent several years overseas. He then returned to private life in Houston where he retired after a successful second career in commercial real estate. He was married to Annet Pearson in 1981.
Jim is survived by his wife, Annet Gusemano Pearson; his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Frank and Rosalie Gusemano; his children, Craig and Lisa Pearson, Lynda Aquilina, Terri and Pepe Schwartz, and Dr. Gary Geaccone; his grandchildren, Cole Pearson, Madeline Pearson, Lani and Richard Fletcher, Mark Aquilina, Sam Aquilina, Chase and Erin Schwartz, Elizabeth and Lee Morgan, Garret Geaccone, and Jackie Geaccone.
The family wishes to thank the Rev. Martin J. Bastian for his kindness and support during Jim’s final days.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 1st of November, in the Jasek Chapel and Pavilion of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A memorial service is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 2nd of November, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road in Houston, where the Rev. Martin J. Bastian, Senior Associate Rector of Pastoral Care, is to officiate.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Bagby Parish Hall.
