James was preceded in death by both of his parents; sister, Barbara Roberts; and son, Steven Rogers.
James graduated from Reagan high school in 1957. He work for Lockheed Martin for over 35 years and loved the space industry. After he retired, he worked for Ace Hardware where he loved to spend his days helping people and tinkering around with tools.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Shirley Rogers; children, David Rogers and wife Susan and Christine Rogers Hopkins; step-children, Brian Bennett and Kim Petroski; grandchildren, Kaitlan Rogers, Steven Hopkins, Ashley Rogers, Sydney Bennett, Blair Bennett and Hunter Petroski; daughter-in-law, Michelle Rogers; and many other loving family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 12:30 p.m., at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079.
