Mr. James Conrad Shindler

Jim had prepared his obituary and his words are as follows:

“…(Jim) was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Belle Shindler.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Betty W. Shindler, whom he loved and worshiped. Other survivors: James Conrad Shindler II and wife, Leslie, and children: Jennifer and Conrad (of Westlake, Texas); Will Allen Shindler and wife, Mary, and children: Will and wife, Claire, Mary Catherine and Dillon (of Houston); Gregory S. Shindler and wife, Stephanie, children: Grayson, Wilson, Lawson, and Ali (of Austin). GOD BLESS my family.”

The memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, 11th of October, in the Sanctuary of the Church of St. John the Divine, 2450 River Oaks Boulevard in Houston, where Jim was a member. The Rev. Dr. Laurens A. Hall, Rector, and the Rev. Dr. Douglas W. Richnow, Senior Associate Rector, are to officiate.

Immediately following the service, all are invited to greet the Shindler Family during a reception in the adjacent Sumners Hall.

In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in Jim’s memory may be directed to the Church of St. John the Divine, 2450 River Oaks Blvd., Houston, TX, 77019; or to the charity of one’s choice.
