Richard Jared Robertson passed into the arms of Jesus on November 22, 2023, after courageously and fiercely battling brain cancer for ten years. While Jared's fight with brain cancer was insurmountable, his constant positive attitude was inspirational to all around him #neverquit.
Jared was born on October 24, 1983 in Houston, Texas. Jared is survived by the love of his life and wife, Haley Robertson, and their three-year-old son, Ledger Pryce Robertson. Being a father and husband was what Jared considered to be his greatest accomplishment in life and also his greatest success. In an amazing showing of how God is Omniscient, Haley, who was already a nurse at the time she met Jared, went on to be the one who would care for him and remained by his side until his last breath.
Jared's childhood was spent in Katy, Texas where he enjoyed all types of sports as well as the outdoors. Jared graduated from James E. Taylor High School in 2002, and went on to study at Texas Christian University where he graduated in 2006. While attending Texas Christian University, Jared was a member of Lamda Chi Alpha fraternity, which forged friendships he maintained the remainder of his life. Jared's magnetic personality made him an obvious choice for a career in sales, and he continued that career for sixteen years at Spectra Contract Flooring.
Jared was always a sportsman at heart and had a tremendous passion for hunting, which through Jared's modeling, Ledger has also come to love. Jared cherished being outdoors with family and friends. From early in childhood, Jared possessed a unique ability to connect with people and make lasting friendships. His infectious smile, zest for life, and quick wit made him a favorite to many.
In addition to Haley and Ledger, Jared is also survived by his parents, Charlie and Angie Robertson; his brother Justin Robertson and wife Courtney, along with their sons Jack, Wyatt and Ford Robertson; father-in-law and mother-in-law Lonnie and Pamela Murphree; sister-in-law Holly Rorick along with her children, Jackson and Abigail; in addition to several other beloved extended family members.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the incredible team of physicians at MD Anderson Cancer Center for their extraordinary care, which include: the late Dr. Charles Conrad; Dr. Robert North; and Dr. Shiao-Pei Weathers. In addition to the incredible medical team surrounding Jared, were Kathy Giles and Rose Barthelomy, whose impeccable care and love for Jared impacted Jared and our lives in a manner that cannot be described because there are no words worthy of expressing the gratitude felt. They will forever hold a place in our lives and be revered as family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 5:30 p.m until 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home 13001 Katy Fwy., Houston, Texas.
A celebration of Jared's life will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 5757 FM 1463, Katy, Texas, with a private burial having preceded.
