Jeanne Jenkins Rivard

Jeanne Patricia (Jenkins) Rivard, 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 18, 2025, in Cypress, Texas, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on November 24, 1951, in Jacksonville, Florida, and was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Connie Jenkins.

Jeanne fulfilled many roles throughout her life, including daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of over 53 years, Roland Rivard; their only child, Chris, and his wife, Becky Rivard; along with their children, Cathy and Russell Rivard. Her loving family was her world, and she enjoyed nothing more than spending time together. Whether it was on a family vacation or sharing Sunday dinner, Jeanne was happiest when she was with her family.

She is also survived by her siblings: her brother, Bill, and his wife, Karen Jenkins, and their children; her sister, Cheri, and her husband, Joe Goodberlet, and their children; and her sister, Debbie, and her husband, Emeka Ohaegbulam, and their children.

Jeanne is a 1969 graduate of Chatham High School in Chatham, Massachusetts, and after graduation, she attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. She married Roland while in college. Their many adventures together took them all over the country before finally settling in the Northwest Houston area. Here, she enjoyed working in the local schools, first in the library and later as a special education paraprofessional. Later, she stopped working to be a stay-at-home grandma, her favorite job of them all. Her grandchildren were her pride and greatest joy, and she never missed a recital, concert, or event for one of the kids. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, sewing, and especially quilting. Her beautiful quilts are cherished keepsakes for all. Jeanne’s memory will live in the hearts of those who loved her.
