
Jeannie Ruth Hamilton, known as Jean to her family and friends, was born on February 2, 1949 to Mr. James Thomas Wilrich, Sr. and Mrs. Bessie Lee Wilrich, Sr. Jeannie was the sixth child of fourteen children. She attended Mable B. Wesley Elementary and M. C. Williams High School, class of 1969, both in Houston, Texas. At an early age, Jeannie was baptized at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Callis in Houston, Texas. Jeannie met and later married Welton James Hamilton on March 20, 1970. To this union three baby girls were born: Chrishynda Monique Hamilton-Nealey, Cheré Michelle Hamilton and Toshia Marie Hamilton. Jeannie loved playing with her grandchildren, tennis, making people laugh and a good Western. She worked at Winterhaven Nursing for a while, then went on to become a school bus driver in the Houston Independent School District until she retired. Jeannie is preceded in death by her father James Thomas Wilrich, Sr.; mother Bessie Lee Wilrich, Sr.; four brothers James Thomas Wilrich, Jr., Howard Otto Wilrich, Sr., Larry Joe Wilrich and Kerry Wilrich and two sisters Bessie Lee Wilrich, Jr. and Laurice Nell VanWright. She leaves to mourn three daughters Chrishynda Monique Hamilton Nealey, Cheré Michelle Hamilton and Toshia Marie Hamilton; five grandsons Christian, Courtney, Cameron, Dedric and Gabriel; one granddaughter Kiana; three great grandchildren CaMelle, CaAliyah and CaDoryein; three brothers Michael Anthony Wilrich, Donald Burrell Wilrich and Samuel Kinard Wilrich; four sisters Mary Ellen Wilrich, Cassie Marie Moore, Doris Elizabeth Melton and Esther Annette Miller; four sisters-in-law Adelle Wilrich, Marie Wilrich, Carolyn Wilrich and Alice Wilrich and two brothers-in-law Eddie Melton and Steven W. Moore. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
