Jeffrey “Jeff” Dean Grymes, 64, of Houston, passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend, Jeff’s passing comes just months after the heartbreaking loss of his wife, Susan, making his absence all the more profound for those who knew the depth of his love and dedication.
Jeff was born on December 8, 1960, and from an early age showed the kind of determination and grit that defined his life. A hardworking man in every sense, Jeff worked within the Houston construction industry for over 40 years, building a reputation for honesty and craftsmanship that earned the respect of everyone who knew him. Whether working late to finish a project or offering a helping hand to a neighbor, Jeff did everything with care and commitment.
Jeff found joy in simple things: suntanning in his favorite float, catching an evening Astros game, hunting and fishing trips with his kids, Sunday dinners where he’d smoke enough brisket and ribs to feed half the neighborhood! He didn’t need recognition or accolades; his reward was knowing his family was safe, cared for, and loved.
Jeff is survived by his children: Jason and spouse Kelsea, Dustin, Tiffany and Amy; his four grandchildren, Taylar, Baylee, Asher and Kai; his brothers Darryl and David; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember his steady presence and kind heart.
A celebration of life will be held at a time and place to be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity in Jeff’s honor, so that his legacy of building and caring for others may continue.
Rest easy, pops. Your work here is done, and it was more than enough.
