Virginia Martha Louise Blackburn Lawson passed away on September 29, 2013. Jennie was born on October 20, 1926 in Taiban, New Mexico to Horace and Kate Blackburn. When she was 3 months old the family moved to Iraan, Texas. She lived in this tiny west Texas town with her parents and older brother and sister. After graduating high school as the valedictorian, she attended Texas Tech where she met her future husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Bernie Wright Lawson, and by her son-in-law, Howard Blissit. Jennie is survived by her three daughters, Susan Hanna (Mike), Paula Blissit, and Barbara Schwartz (Gary). Grammy was adored by her 2 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 3 grand-daughters-in-law, and 4 great-granddaughters. A memorial service will be held on October 2, 2013 at 12:30 PM at Memorial Oaks funeral home, 13001 Katy Freeway. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
