Born in Houston, TX on March 25, 1957 to Myrtle Stringer and Jimmie Lee Holmes, Jimmie always remained a Texan at heart though he lived in countless other states over the course of his life and even spent the last 25 years of his life enduring Pennsylvania winters to be close to his kids and grandkids.
His family will always remember him as very passionate about the things he loved. He was an avid hobbyist all his life, painting miniatures and model cars in addition to loving all things RC racing, motorcycles, guitars, and hot rods, just to name a few. A huge animal lover, Jimmie cared for and doted on his best friend Tucker the dog until Tucker’s unfortunate passing in November 2021. Jimmie was very proud of his lifelong work in the telecommunications industry.
He was preceded in death by his mother Myrtle Stringer and his sister Kim Holmes.
Jimmie is survived by his children Stephanie, Megan (Zach), and Taylor (Allison); grandchildren: Oliver, Ayla, and Nora; his siblings: John, Amanda, Mason, and Justin; as well as his father Jimmie Lee and step mother Debi.
In lieu of flowers, Jimmie and his family have asked that donations be made to your local SPCA.
A funeral service will be held at Brookside Memorial Cemetery in Houston, TX on March 17, 2022 at 1 PM. A celebration of life gathering will be announced in York, PA at a later date. Please contact the family to receive information on the celebration of life gathering: [email protected]
