

Jimmy and Marilyn were married January 27, 1962 and spent 58 loving years together. Jimmy was blessed with four children. Jimmy and Marilyn raised their three children in Houston, Texas where Jimmy worked as a Longshoreman for Sealand. Jimmy and Marilyn then moved to Franklin, Texas in January 1990 where they lived for 28 years. Jimmy worked as a Bus Driver for Franklin ISD in Franklin, Texas for ten years. In his younger years Jimmy served in the Army for two years and was honorably discharged. He was also a Master Mason in Aldine Lodge 1412. He loved working and tinkering on his 76 acre Ranch in Franklin, TX. They retired to Conroe, Texas in 2018 to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Jimmy enjoyed watching the Astros with his son and spending time with family. Most of all, he was very grateful for any and every opportunity to spend time with his loved ones.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Marilyn, his mother, Edna Cockrell, his father, K.A. Cockrell, his sister, Barbara Watkins, and his great-grandson, Carson Freytag. He is survived by his sister Patricia Cornell and her husband Walter Cornell, brother-in-law Leon Watkins, children, Shela Cockrell Jarnagin, Kandace Kaliszewski and her husband, Kevin Kaliszewski, Randall Cockrell and his wife, Genny Cockrell, and Karen Freytag and her husband, Larry Freytag, his grandchildren, Jenna Consford and her husband, Jonathan Consford, Blake Peeples and his wife, Tesha Peeples, Justin Guess, Amber Gurganus and her husband, Hadley Gurganus, Austin Freytag, Shelby Edmonds and her husband, Parker Edmonds, Haley Kaliszewski, Victoria Consford, Taylor Consford, Olivia Cockrell, Ella Cockrell, and Ava Cockrell, his great-grandchildren Hunter Gurganus, Rylee Freytag, Elijah Peeples, Bentley Freytag, Ryder Freytag and Emery Freytag and many other loved ones.
Funeral arrangements for Jimmy will include a visitation on Tuesday, July 6 from 6 - 8 pm and funeral services Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 2:30 pm. Following the funeral services the family will be having a celebration of life.
