

Jimmy Dale Leigh stepped into the presence of his Lord & Savior on March 17, 2016. He was born in January 1938, to Marshall Henry & Neta Leigh in Floresville, Texas. After attending Victoria College for two years, he joined the Navy. At the end of boot camp, he came home to marry his best friend and the absolute love of his life, Janice Finster. Jimmy served his country in the Navy for 20 years then worked for the Army in Avionics for 24 years. Upon retirement he enjoyed traveling with Janice and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he loved joking and laughing with everybody. No one was a stranger. Jimmy’s sense of humor and his love for Janice and his family were known by anyone he met. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice Leigh; daughter Sandy Lynn and husband Mike; grandchildren Michael, Noah, Jessica and step granddaughters Jade and Alyssa. Also surviving is brother Donald Leigh and wife Dolores along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & extended family. He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Leigh and brother, Marshall Jr. Viewing will be held at Brookside Funeral Home on March 21, 5:00pm-8:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Community Church, March 22, at 11:30am.
