JoAnn LeBlanc Haas

JoAnn LeBlanc Haas, affectionately known as "Mimi," passed away peacefully at home and was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on the 10th of April, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Leukemia.

A beloved mother, grandmother, great- grand mother and sister, JoAnn was born on the 13th of July 1931, in Port Arthur, Texas to Simonet and Zoe LeBlanc. She graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1949 and married the love of her life, Fred E. Haas, Jr.

Committed to her family and three sons, JoAnn always made sure their home, their lives, and their priorities were in order. She enjoyed time with family and friends, whether at home, the family farm, skiing in Beaver Creek Colorado, or with her neighborhood bridge group. Being around JoAnn was always about love, laughter, and having fun. A sense of humor was the cornerstone of her personality, and in spite of declining health, was evident to her last days. Blessed to have traveled the world where she never met a stranger, JoAnn was always the life of the party where she would dance the night away and did on many occasions.

JoAnn is welcomed into heaven by her loving daughter in law, Dorothy "Zabet" Haas, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, the 1st of April, 2018. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Jeff Haas and wife Donna, Mark Haas, Steve Haas; grandchildren, Bryan Haas and wife Kelli, David Haas and wife Angelica, Natalie Haas, Nicholas Haas, and great- grandchildren; Cooper Haas, Charlotte Haas, Carson Haas, and Blake Haas. She is also survived by her loving brother, Todd LeBlanc. All will miss JoAnn's smile, her jokes, the laughter, and her undeniable commitment to them.

JoAnn's family wishes to thank the devoted care given by Kelty Baker, M.D., her loving care givers, Shelia Maxwell, Oscar Weatherspoon, Barbara Johnson, and Mimie ChauKan, Ronke Fakiyesi and the devoted staff at Houston Hospice.

A celebration of JoAnn's life is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 14th of April, in the Jasek Chapel on Geo H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.

The family will gather for a private interment at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
