JoAnn Yamile Lopez

JoAnn was born January 4th, 1983 in Houston, Texas to Maria Del Refugio and Domingo Lopez; and then was raised by Benjamin Lopez. JoAnn was the middle child out of her two siblings, Jorge being the oldest and Jasmin being the youngest.

She graduated with a GED, then later graduated with her bachelor’s degree to become an elementary school teacher. She then accomplished getting her master’s degree not to long ago and formerly was a middle school counselor. She impacted many children’s lives, guiding them and helping them learn as well as assisting them in their hardships.

JoAnn had a big heart and smile. No matter how much she struggled she’ll always put others before herself. The sense of humor she had and laugh will always be unforgettable. Her pure soul will always light the room up and her beauty was like no other.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Gregorio and her two daughters, Denise and Celeste. As a loyal wife and gentle mother, JoAnn proved how selfless a mother can be and will do anything for her family. She was a hardworking mother, teacher and counselor.

“I love you” will always be her favorite words. She loves to go to church and read the Bible. She gave herself to God before she passed away into heaven.

A visitation for Joann will be held Friday, September 26, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022. A final viewing will occur Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022. A burial will occur Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX 77039.
