

Joda Mae Seale Hall was born on June 28, 1915 in Corsicana, Texas. She was the daughter of Joseph Martin and Della Mae Seale and sister of Aubrey Seale who have all preceded her in death. Also preceding her death were her husband, Casey Blackburn Hall and her son David Carey Hall.
Joda graduated from Corsicana High School in 1934. She attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. There she met her sweetheart and husband, Casey Blackburn Hall of Rowlett, Texas. After their marriage on July 8, 1936 in Corsicana, Texas they went on to minister in churches throughout Texas for 45 of their 58 years of marriage.
Joda loved the Lord and sharing his treasures and love through her writings and teaching reached friends around the world. She served in many capacities as a minister’s wife but her favorite joy was her children and family. Joda always planned her day and fulfilled her lifelong dream to graduate from college. That she did at the age of 56 when she graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She was a wonderful teacher to children of all ages and at the age of 70 she retired from teaching. Her witnessing and sharing her love and goodness continued even into her last five years when she lived in long-term care facilities. For the last three years she has faithfully attended True Vine Bible Church at Grace Care Center of Cypress.
Joda Hall is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Hall Riley and husband Robert Riley of Cypress, TX. Her grandchildren include Daren Christopher Hall of Burleson and his wife, Lisa, and their daughters, Brittany and Stacey Hall. Other grandchildren are Laura Rachelle Turner and her husband Glen and their twins, Jackson and Caroline of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by grandchildren, David Carey Hall, Jr. of the Dallas area and Stephanie Hall Harms of Saginaw, TX. and their families.
The family would like to express appreciation to her caregivers Molly Lall and Shuntay Bell and the staff of Autumngrove Copperbrook and Grace Care Center of Cypress. Donations may be sent to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-4123.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek, 9149 Hwy 6 North, Houston, TX 77095. Graveside services will be held at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
