

Where family gathering is always welcomed, our beloved brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away at his home on Wednesday September 1st, 2021 at the age of 71.
John was born on September 22, 1949 to John Nolcom Amos and Lucille Coligan in Lawtell, LA. John is preceded in death by his parents John N Amos Sr. and Lucille Coligan and four brothers Jules Amos, Noles Amos, Roosvelt Amos and John Truman Amos, as well as our dear sister-in-law Eve Amos.
John was baptized and raised as a faithful servant. He attended St. Monica Catholic Church. He was a man of God and blessing to those he met whether in the community or just in passing.
John graduated from J.S. Clark High School in Opelousas, LA in 1968. Following graduation, he went straight into the military in 1969 and served until 1971. While in the service, he taught electronics and was an electrician by trade. Soon after, he met the love of his life of 48 years Evelyn F. Amos in 1972.
John leaves to celebrate and remember his life five siblings Clement Amos Sr. (Mary), Catherine Simonette (Willis), Michael Amos (Eve), Betty Francis (Walter), and Sister Mary Regina Amos.
John will be truly missed by his wife Evelyn Faye Montgomery Amos and four children Adriene Miles, Oscar Miles, Maureen Yvette Amos, John Malcolm Amos III. Three godchildren JaQuita Montgomery Martin, Randy Simonette, Justin Montgomery. Twelve grandchildren Krystal, Dallas, Travis, Lia, Kaleigh, Malcolm, Romi, Ebony, Laiten, Oscar Jr., Mariah, Serenity. Five great grandchildren Dallas Jr., King, Zion, Sincere, Liam.
A visitation for John will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Monica Catholic Church, 8421 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Monica Catholic Church, 8421 W. Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088. A committal service will occur Monday, September 13, 2021 from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr,, Houston, TX 77038.
