

John Carl Bauer Jr. was called to be with his Lord and Savior on January 9, 2014. Our dearly beloved John Carl Bauer Jr. was preceded in death by his loving parents, John and Ella Bauer, sister, Billie Frederick, and brothers, Roger and Calvin Bauer. Additional family members include: John H. Raspberry, Ronnie Raspberry, Carol and Jimmy Wilson, and Ruth and Clifton Raspberry. Numerous aunts, uncles, and various relatives also preceded John in death. Current survivors love and devoted wife of sixty years, Earlean Bauer, son, Danny Bauer, and daughters Belinda Skloss and Patricia Janke, Son-in-law Larry Janke, daughter-in-law Habe Sigman. Grand children include Justin Janke, Renee and Rhonda Sigman. Great grandchildren are Blake Chandler, Luke and Kayla Sigman.
John Carl Bauer Jr. attended Jeff Davis Senior High School. He went to work at seventeen years of age at Brown Oil Tools, Inc. in Houston, Texas. He began his career as a machinist and worked himself into the position of management. He moved to Huntsville, Texas in 1982 to open Baker Hughes. In addition, he has worked as a Consultant for Flotex, and Toolflo. He loved to work. John worked until the age of 79. He enjoyed his work, family, and friends.
John Carl Bauer Jr.’s legacy is that he was an excellent parent and devoted husband. He is a symbol of truth, trust, and integrity. John Carl Bauer Jr. was fair, firm and consistent in his dealings with all individuals. As a Christian man he role modeled honest communication. He will be cherished and remembered as “Big Daddy”, “Big John” and “Big Bad John” to all who knew him well. John donated time and money to many charities in his lifetime. He always followed the Golden Rule “Do unto others as you would like do to you”. John Carl Bauer Jr. will truly be missed. He is the “Wings beneath Our Wings”.
John will be buried at Brookside Funeral Home on January 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to participate in this Memorial Celebration. The Viewing for John Carl Bauer Jr. will be on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Your attendance is greatly appreciated. Brookside Cemetery is located at 13471 Eastex Freeway in Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers you may make a charitable donation to Bay Area Council of the Blind located at 131 Pecan Drive in League City, Texas 77573.
